The Journey
Carrigkeal was designed to unlock the potential of an existing basement by creating a high-quality one-bedroom family flat for independent living. The design carefully reconfigures the available space to provide bright, functional accommodation while strengthening the connection between the interior and the surrounding coastal landscape.
Large areas of glazing and strategically positioned rooflights maximise natural daylight throughout the home, while a contemporary material palette of natural stone and render complements the existing property. The inclusion of a sedum roof further enhances the environmental performance of the project, resulting in a practical and thoughtfully designed living space.
